    On Tonight: Saluting Michael Jackson



    It was one year ago today that the surprising news came out of California: Michael Jackson was dead.

    The coverage tonight on the first year anniversary is in some cases more extensive than it was when it happened, in part because they had a year to plan it.

    The coverage starts on "The Early Show" (CBS, 7 a.m.) with special interviews and coverage. Then tonight there is a special report on a two hour "20/20" (ABC, 9 p.m.), focusing on Jackson's children, and an vestigation involving his death.

    On cable, "Michael Jackson: The Final Days" (CNN, 8 p.m.) runs opposite "The Last Days of Michael Jackson" (E!, 8 p.m.)

    Personal videos enhance the biography of ht singer on "Michael Jackson" (E! 9 p.m.)
    There is an hour long special on "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music" (MTV,7 p.m.) and there is another screening of his final performance film, "Michael Jackson's This is It" (Starz, 8 p.m.).

    "Glee" star Jane Lynch returns to help close the solid second season of "Party Down" (Starz, 10 p.m.)

    Tami and Julie go on a college tour on "Friday Night Lights" (NBC, 8 p.m.).

    It's the second to last ever episode of "Miami Medical" (CBS, 10 p.m.)

    Debby Ryan, who plays Bailey on "Suite Life on Deck" (Disney, 7 and 11:30 p.m.) stars in a new TV movie about a girl who gets magic candles on her 16th birthday that grant the wishes she made for the day since she was a little girl in the new TV movie "16 Wishes" (Disney, 8 p.m.).

    Second round coverage of the Travelers Championship (Golf, 3 p.m.) continues from Cromwell.

    "The George Lopez Show" (TBS, 11 p.m.) reaches its 100th episode with a special Friday edition.

    It's the final day of first round games in the World Cup, determining who goes on to the field of 16. The roster has Brazil vs. Portugal (ESPN, Univision, 9:30 p.m.), where they will both be able to understand their cursewords, opposite Ivory Coast vs. South Korea (ESPN2, 9:30 a.m.). Later, it's Chile vs. Spain (ESPN, Univision, 2 p.m.) opposite Honduras vs. Switzerland (ESPN2, 2 p.m.).

    Baseball includes Red Sox at Giants (NESN, 10 p.m.) and Yankees at Dodgers (YES< 10 p.m.).

    Day 5 of Wimbledon (ESPN2, 7 a.m., noon) gets coverage as well.
