    Jackson's glove sells for US$190,000
    Sun, 27 Jun 2010 12:53p.m.

Bidders from around the world bought up Michael Jackson memorabilia worth nearly US$1 million at an auction on the anniversary of his death, including US$190,000 for the Swarovski-crystal-studded glove he wore on his 1984 Victory Tour.

The bidding that began Friday on more than 200 items was "unlike anything we've ever experienced", said Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions, which ran the auction at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Some items, like the glove, brought 10 times more than their estimated value, he said.

"It just shows you Michael Jackson is the most sought after and most collectible celebrity of all time. It was just phenomenal," Julien told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

"People flew in from Asia, Russia, all over. Now that he's gone, we now realize the true legend we lost," said Julien, who has not had a similar auction in his 15 years in the business. He predicted the sales would easily top US$1 million by the time the auction wrapped up Sunday.

The glove had been expected to sell for between US$20,000 and US$30,000. The US$190,000 sale price included the buyer's premium of US$30,000, a standard industry fee that goes to the auction house, Julien said.

The winning bidder was Wanda Kelley of Los Angeles, who also bought a number of Jackson's albums at the auction, the Las Vegas Sun reported. She said she was prepared to go higher if necessary.

"Let's just say I wasn't walking out of here without that glove," she said.

A pair of Jackson's stage-worn loafers that were listed as worth US$2,000 to US$3,000 went for US$90,000.

The custom jacket that the pop singer was wearing during his interview with Barbara Walters was listed at US$6,000 to US$8,000. It sold for US$120,000.

A white Fedora sold for US$56,250. One of the last autographs Jackson signed, and dated June 24, 2009, in his handwriting, went for US$21,000.

Non-Jackson items that sold at the auction included:

    - A Jimi Hendrix Fender guitar for US$180,000.

    - Prince's "Purple Rain" handwritten lyrics, which sold for US$66,000.

    - An Elvis Presley shirt worn in 1956 on The Milton Berle Show, which fetched US$61,200.

I thought you might want to check out the stuff being sold for auction ,there is alot of stuff from him and the Jackson five ,Elvis ,Madonna lots of artist .But the one thing that caught my eye was that Michael name is clearly put as Michael Joe Jackson ,in his signature and in the book ,it's on page 200 it's a contract from when he was younger .I can't get the site but look on twiggy's death hoax site that's where it is .

Just something I read over at MJHoaxLive - apparently at this Julian's Auction of MJ's goodies there was this elderly?? gentleman who was in a wheelchair with garlands all over the back of his wheelchair looking like Christmas (25th?) and a festive hat and he was doing wheelies all over the place having a time of his life. I wonder if anyone took a look at the guy's shoes???

Thank's for this information kitkat71. I really appreciate it.
From time to time, I check how the auction goes, what the price achieved for some of the things Michael, and so on...
I am by profession graduated economist, somehow it's a professional deformation. lol! You, see now. :)

On the other hand really interesting the fact how mistakes are made in this name , whether it is Joe or Joseph?
But this is not the only case, how I had the opportunity to read I noticed that the mistakes made and the names of Michael children.
    Interesting administrative workers, right...

My mom still has that a mistake made by the administrative staff regarding the city of birth, truly amazing. How mistake with one letter can change the whole story, and so on...

Well, like Empathy said, now these things are not important for Michael.I understand that. But it is nice to know that the price reaches a good. And it is really amazing how Branca hold strings in his hands, and sets things in place that should be.
If we have reached a bit of truth where the money goes from this auction... ...I would like myself to have a role in this, buy one thing if I have opportunities...and so on...
