U2 to Break Wembley Attendance Record... Michael's reocrd

U2's first UK gig in their current tour will break all previous attendance records for a Wembley Stadium concert, organisers have claimed.

Around 88,000 are expected at the Irish group's concert on Friday - 5,000 more than what is believed to be its biggest previous crowd for a musical event.

U2's radical "claw" stage has enabled tour organisers Live Nation to increase the capacity for the sold-out show.

Michael Jackson holds the record for Wembley concerts, the late singer having notched up 15 appearances at the legendary venue.

The Rolling Stones come next with 12 concerts, followed by Madonna with nine.

However, U2 will exceed the American singer's tally when they play their 10th night at the stadium on Saturday.

The band's current 360 tour uses three different stage structures, each in the shape of a giant claw.

Well, at least they didn't surpass his 1988 record from the bad tour for the record for Most Successful Concert Series Ever; Michael sold out for seven nights at the legendary Wembley Stadium, London, England. A total of 504,000 people saw Michael perform at the legendary stadium in the summer of 1988.

And don't forget that MJ holds the record for being the first person to sell 1 million tickets in Wemberly.

Also you have to consider that there were 2 different Wemberly stadiums. MJ sold out 15 times in the old one. Breaking records there. And U2 sold out 8 in the old one. When you think about it, they only sold out 2 shows in the new wemberly.

But in the grand scheme of things, who cares if U2 sold the most shows there. They still can't top MJ's record set from 1988. Plus MJ made more shows there then they did. MJ has 15, they have 10.
